The distressed red wood was originally located on a barn. The barn was about to be torn down, and through small town connections we were able to go out and salvage some wood before it was too late. 
 
So, not only is there a limited amount of this beautiful naturally dressed red barn wood, it is a completely unique handmade frame. All of the frames my dad creates are designed and crafted by him. This frame is no exception. We decided to display the "Curly Cow" in this frame. The red wood made it look as though the cute cow was peaking his head out of a barn window, too perfect. 
 
The story behind the "Curly Cow":
Originally for a friend in love with cows. She had come across a family with a farm, raising the cutest curly headed cows. Of course, she took a ton of photos and sent them all to me asking if I could draw the little fella for her. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and I fell in love with cow too. She was wanting something fun to add color to her space, and gave me creative freedom. Music to my ears.
