Sitting on the porch I had a bouquet of flowers beside me. Carnations are my favorite flower, and I just focused on those. I started without a plan and drew the budding bloom. Then the sun felt so nice, I just wanted to keep going. Naturally it turned into this subtle and sweet drawing.
Using pen I drew the shadows and textured layered edges of this pretty flower.
